The Low Form Standard
Low Form is an independent news outlet in Washington, D.C., dedicated exclusively to covering prediction markets — their platforms, their traders, their regulators, and the policy decisions that shape them.
"Prediction is a low form of journalism." — David Remnick
We took the insult and built a newsroom around it.
Editorial Independence Policy
Low Form is an independent news outlet based in Washington, D.C., dedicated exclusively to covering prediction markets — their platforms, their traders, their regulators, and the policy decisions that shape them. We are the first outlet of our kind operating in our nation's capital. Our independence is not incidental. It is the product.
On Betting
Low Form press do not place bets on prediction market platforms.
We maintain accounts on Polymarket, Kalshi, and other platforms we cover for the purpose of observation, documentation, and reporting. We do not use those accounts to trade.
This policy exists for one reason: we cover these markets. A reporter who bets on the outcome of a congressional vote and then covers that vote has a financial stake in the story. We don't. That separation is what makes our analysis worth reading.
The exception: In rare circumstances, we may place a test transaction to document how a platform functions — to verify a user experience claim, test a new product feature, or confirm a technical detail that cannot be verified any other way. Any such transaction requires advance editorial approval, and must be disclosed in the resulting story.
Beyond that, we will never use non-public information obtained through our reporting to place bets. Ever.
On Sources
We protect our sources. We do not identify confidential sources without their consent, and we do not burn sources to gain access to competing sources.
We seek comment from all parties before publishing. We give subjects reasonable time to respond. We publish their responses in full when relevant.
On Conflicts of Interest
Low Form staff disclose financial relationships with any entity we cover. Staff may not hold equity positions in prediction market platforms. Staff may not consult for, advise, or accept compensation from platforms, trading firms, or lobbying organizations operating in the prediction market space.
On Corrections
We correct errors promptly and transparently. Corrections are labeled as such — not quietly edited. We do not delete stories. We append.
On Sponsored Content
Sponsored content and advertising do not influence editorial decisions. Sponsors do not review stories before publication. Sponsors do not suggest, kill, or shape coverage. Sponsored content, when it exists, is clearly labeled.
Who We Are Accountable To
Our readers. Paid subscribers fund this newsroom. That is the relationship that governs everything else.
